FAQ'S
  • How much test time do you have on the ACPM?
  • The ACPM has been tested for over 100,000 hours in actual working conditions. It has been tested in excess of 200 degress for 40 hours and -20 degrees for 40 hours.

  • Will the ACPM tie into the engine computer or engine control module?
  • See the Intruction Manual’s Special Feature section.

  • What options are there for resetting the ACPM?
  • Depending on who you want to reset it, you can go directly to the battery and install a concealed on/off switch or a key switch. You can go to the ignition accessory relay to power the ACPM and by doing this, every time the machine is restarted the ACPM will be reset. You can go to the AC mode switch or AC on/off switch and by doing this you simply turn the AC off for 5 seconds and the ACPM is reset.

  • Will the battery wear down if the ACPM stays on all the time?
  • No. The ACPM draws only 90 ma when fully activated - red light and relay on.

  • What if my operator ignores the yellow light?
  • The AC will still function until the discharge pressure exceeds 350 psi. At that time the red light activates and the ACPM shuts down the compressor.

  • What if my operator keeps resetting the ACPM after the red light comes on?
  • Proper ACPM operation depends on good communication between maintenance and the operators. The operator will get tired of continually resetting the ACPM and doing without air conditioning. The operator benefits from proper AC operation. The ACPM gives the operator a chance to be part of the solution.

  • Won’t this constant resetting of the ACPM damage the compressor?
  • Yes. After time, if the problem is ignored, the system will eventually fail. The OEM high pressure switches trigger in the 365 psi to 475 psi range.  The ACPM triggers at approximately 350 psi. This is at the maximum range of normal operation. By doing this, it prevents the compressor from operating in the excessive pressure ranges. Logic dictates that if you avoid this maximum range, components will last longer. If an operator ignores this, he or she will also ignore oil lights and engine temperature lights.

  • What if by cleaning the condenser there is no improvement?
  • You will then need to contact your local AC technician to determine what is causing your excessive pressure problem. Remember the monitor tells you that you have exceeded the pressure triggers on the ACPM.
